For the Charleston Client

Fine art boudoir photography, on your terms.

For Charleston Ladies

Privée is a private studio in Greenville, South Carolina, dedicated entirely to fine art boudoir and intimate portraiture. The work is editorial in approach and built around you specifically, shaped through a series of planning calls before your session, so every detail is considered and nothing is left to the day. Whether you'd rather make the trip up to Greenville or keep your session at home in Charleston, the work is shaped around you, either way.

An easy day trip to Greenville…

Greenville is roughly four hours west of Charleston. For some clients, that distance is part of the appeal: a weekend away, a city that's quietly become one of the most considered downtowns in the Southeast, a session bracketed by something that feels like a small retreat rather than an errand.

If you'd like to make the trip, two hotel recommendations in downtown Greenville:

The Grand Bohemian Lodge Greenville - newer to the city, designed with the same dramatic, art-forward sensibility you'd expect from the brand. Walking distance to dinner and to the studio's neighborhood.

The Westin Poinsett - the historic option, a 1925 Beaux-Arts hotel on Main Street that's been Greenville's landmark for nearly a century. Quieter, more classic in tone, with a lobby that earns its reputation.

Airbnb is also worth a look if you'd rather have a space that adds something to the trip - a downtown loft, a restored historic home, somewhere with the kind of light or interior detail that could become part of the work itself. If that interests you, it's a conversation we'd have during your consultation.

On location in Charleston…

For Charleston clients who'd rather keep their session at home, Melissa can accommodate that request. The session can happen in Charleston with the location and the day designed together during your consultation.

That may mean a downtown hotel suite booked for the trip, an Airbnb with the kind of light or interior detail that becomes part of the work, a studio space rented for the day, or a private home if the right one is available. Each of these has its own character, and the right answer depends on the work you want to make. The conversation about which fits - and what becomes possible at each - is part of your consultation.

Travel sessions follow the same arc as studio sessions: consultation, planning, the day itself, the reveal. The investment reflects the additional logistics, with details shared privately once we've spoken.

Lingerie in Charleston

Charleston is full of beautiful boutiques, and most clients already have a sense of where they shop. The detailed prep guide that arrives after booking covers wardrobe in full - pieces to consider, what to skip, what photographs particularly well. A proper bra fitting before your session matters more than most clients expect, and a single visit to a fitter you trust is the most useful thing you can do to prepare.

My favorite Charleston lingerie shops are Bits of Lace and Lounge With Us.

The reveal - your choice

The reveal is its own appointment, separate from the session. The full edited gallery is presented for your selections - this is the moment you choose your album, your prints, and the pieces you'll live with.

For Charleston clients, the reveal can happen one of two ways: in person at the Greenville studio, or virtually, with the gallery presented over a private video call. Both produce the same finished work; the choice is yours.

For the bride

Bridal boudoir for your wedding day is a meaningful part of Privée's work. If you're a Charleston bride considering a session before your wedding, plan for at least six weeks between session day and finished work in hand - more if your album includes custom design choices.

Sessions can happen in Greenville or in Charleston. The conversation about which is the right fit for your timeline, your wedding, and the work you want is something we'll have together during your consultation.

The Studio

Privée's studio is in Greenville's Sterling neighborhood, just on the edge of downtown… a private space with beautiful natural light, multiple rooms to shoot in, dedicated styling and dressing areas, and the kind of quiet that this work asks for. Off-street parking, no street-side coordination, no signage. The exact address is shared the week of your session, after booking is complete; that privacy isn't a feature, it's the point.

A session runs two to three hours, with three to five looks. Hair and makeup styling are included on the upper collections. The full range of the work is customized during your consultation and planning meetings… so you are sure to be fully prepared on the day of your session.

When you’re ready…

Charleston clients tend to book six to ten weeks ahead of their session — further out for bridal work or travel sessions, where logistics need a longer runway. Inquiry is private. The consultation is unhurried. Investment details are shared once we've spoken.
